Job Summary

Own the visual storytelling for Pepperdine Athletics by handling design templates, photography and videography, and multi-channel campaigns across digital and print, while aligning with the department’s brand and mission.

  • Creative production ownership: design graphics and templates for assigned sports and campaigns that fit the visual identity.
  • Content capture: shoot and edit photos/videos at events to fuel social, digital ads, and videoboards.
  • Brand stewardship: ensure assets reflect Pepperdine values and collaborate with Marketing and Communications to promote athletics.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • The Creative Services Graduate Assistant will support the promotion of Pepperdine Athletics through graphic design, photography, videography and other strategic creative and marketing initiatives across digital and external platforms.
  • Report to the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Communications while supporting and promoting the Pepperdine Athletics brand through digital and print media.
  • Design graphics and templates for assigned sports that align with and enhance the overall visual identity of the department.
  • Create graphics and visual assets for videoboards, marketing campaigns, social media and digital advertisements.
  • Capture photo and/or video content at Pepperdine Athletics events and related activities.
  • Uphold and reflect the University’s mission and values through all work performed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sports Management, Marketing, Advertisement, Arts or a related field.
  • Must apply for the Pepperdine Graduate School of Education and Psychology online program only .
  • Intermediate proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Foundational knowledge of photography, videography and camera operation.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by the athletics schedule.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a NCAA Intercollegiate Athletics Department, specifically in the digital realm.
  • Understanding of sports operations and the collegiate athletics landscape.
