Job Description

Responsibilities

  • 60% Support and execute communications strategies that promote PEOPLE's editorial content, brand initiatives, and talent through proactive media relations, strategic outreach, relationship management, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • 25% Coordinate and support media appearances, editorial launches, events, and other high-impact communications initiatives by managing logistics, materials, external partners, and execution to ensure successful outcomes.
  • 15% Contribute to communications planning and team operations by monitoring media coverage, identifying opportunities, developing communications materials, supporting reporting and administrative processes, and collaborating on strategic initiatives that advance business goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent communications experience.
  • 2-4 years experience
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of the media landscape, effective media relations practices and identifying what makes news and why.
  • Knowledge of entertainment media including areas of celebrity, pop culture, etc..
  • Comfortable working both independently of others and as a team player
  • Strong knowledge of social media
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and solution-focused with strong critical thinking skills.
