Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Marketing Strategy, Attendance Growth & Sport Oversight: Serve as the primary marketing contact for men’s and women’s soccer, developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive marketing and fan engagement plans designed to increase attendance, enhance the game-day atmosphere, and support revenue objectives. Create and execute digital marketing campaigns, promotional initiatives, group sales efforts, theme nights, grassroots marketing activities, and other attendance-driving programs for assigned sports and departmental initiatives. Collaborate with coaches, sport administrators, communications, creative services, ticket operations, and external partners to execute integrated marketing campaigns and achieve departmental goals.
  • Digital Platforms, Website & Mobile App Strategy: Assist with the development, execution, and evaluation of digital marketing strategies across the Athletics website, mobile application, email platforms, and other digital communication channels. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure digital platforms effectively support ticket sales, fan engagement, revenue generation, storytelling, and departmental priorities. Monitor digital engagement metrics and recommend strategies to improve user experience, content performance, and fan interaction across all digital touchpoints.
  • Gamecock Club, Junior Gamecock Club & Revenue Generation: Serve as the marketing lead for the Gamecock Club and Junior Gamecock Club, developing and executing marketing plans designed to increase membership, engagement, retention, and participation. Assist with the development and implementation of strategies designed to increase ticket sales, attendance, and incremental revenue through the Forever Garnet program and other departmental initiatives. Develop and implement social media, email, digital, and grassroots marketing campaigns to support fan development and revenue-generating programs. Analyze membership, attendance, and engagement data to identify opportunities for growth and improved performance.
  • Game Day Presentation & Fan Experience: Plan, coordinate, and execute all marketing and fan experience elements for assigned sporting events, including game themes, entertainment elements, promotions, sponsor activations, and fan engagement initiatives. Implement and fulfill all game-day inventory sold through the department’s multimedia rights holder, ensuring contractual obligations are met and sponsor activations are executed at a high level. Organize, script, and communicate all game-day elements for videoboard operators, public address announcers, spirit groups, entertainment personnel, and event staff. Oversee and assist with the in-game execution of promotional activities and fan experience initiatives across assigned sports and other events as needed.
  • Supervision & Administrative Responsibilities: Supervise and evaluate marketing interns assigned to sports and departmental initiatives. Provide oversight and direction for marketing support of assigned non-ticketed sports through intern management. Assist with departmental administrative responsibilities, special projects, budget tracking, and other assignments as. Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Athletics Department.
  • Provide direction/game day supervision to Assistant Director of Marketing assigned to men’s basketball.
  • Work on special projects and assignments as needed. Perform any additional duties as requested by the Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing marketing plans, attendance initiatives, and fan engagement programs.
  • Experience planning and executing game presentation and promotional activities for athletic events.
  • Experience supervising, mentoring, or training interns or other project teams.
  • Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by athletic event schedules.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, sport management, communications, business administration, public relations, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of progressively responsible experience in athletics marketing, sports marketing, fan engagement, event marketing, or a related field preferred.
