Job Description

Responsibilities

  • The Associate Director / Creative Video within the Brand Advancement team will collaborate with key stakeholders in the strategy, creation, conceptualization, planning and execution of video and digital content for Virginia Tech Athletics.
  • Position will be the primary videographer of the Virginia Tech Women's Basketball program.
  • Also will serve as the student assistant oversight for select sports.
  • Additionally, this position will work with a team of 15-plus creative students, and be a key contributor to the development of those students.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with significant video experience, or a master's degree.
  • Strong storytelling skills and experience.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team setting, while also being self motivated and organized.
  • Substantial experience producing a variety of videos including, but not limited to, daily social videos, hype videos, recruiting content, intro videos, and promotional materials.
  • Relevant experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop.

Preferred

  • Experience with cinema-style and DSLR cameras.
  • Experience with professional lighting systems.
  • Ability to work outside of typical business hours as needed, potentially including, but not limited to, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to edit according to tight deadlines, scripts and brand guidelines.
  • Ability to work independently and seamlessly with separate teams from Brand Advancement, Revenue, and Productions & Multimedia.
  • Excellent communication & organizational skills.
  • Online portfolio/reel that demonstrates expertise in shooting and editing.
  • Working knowledge of NCAA rules.
  • Functional knowledge of technology and industry trends.
  • Experience writing scripts.
  • Experience with in-venue video production.
