Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Creative Translation: Turn complex technical concepts into clear, conversational, and engaging scripts and learning content
  • De-Tech-ing Copy: Edit drafts from engineers, developers, and execs to remove jargon and bring in clarity, tone, and flow
  • Narrative Strategy: Partner with instructional designers to ensure content aligns with learning goals and tells a cohesive story
  • SME Extraction: Interview subject matter experts to uncover key insights, hooks, and “aha” moments
  • Audience Advocacy: Become an expert in the learner’s mindset—ensuring content never feels over-engineered or inaccessible
  • Content Development: Create high-quality scripts, readings, and supporting materials across formats
  • Collaboration: Work closely with writers, editors, strategists, and client teams to bring ideas to life
  • Mentorship & Review: Provide feedback on peer work and help elevate the overall quality of the team
  • Cultural Contributions: Share your take, your creativity, your pet photos—and the exact GIF that captures “I finally fixed this sentence”

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in creative writing, content, marketing, journalism, advertising, or a related field
  • A proven ability to take complex technical subjects and make them clear, engaging, and genuinely interesting
  • The “Jargon Whisperer”: you instinctively know how to turn “enterprise-grade scalable architecture” into something a real human would say out loud
  • Strong experience developing educational content—video scripts, readings, assessments, maybe even white papers
  • Comfortable interviewing subject matter experts, senior execs, and technical teams—and pulling out the actual story
  • AI-savvy: you use AI tools to move faster, but your human voice is what makes the work land
  • A collaborative, opinionated creative who speaks up, gives thoughtful feedback, and handles feedback just as well
  • Experienced in juggling multiple deadlines without sacrificing quality
  • Detail-oriented and accuracy-obsessed—you care about getting it right and making it sound good

Preferred

  • AP style familiarity (and knowing when to break it)

Benefits

  • Flexible work hours
  • Minimum 20 days paid vacation annually
  • 401k + financial wellness support
  • Health Insurance (medical, dental, life, pet, mental health services)
  • Home office allowance
  • Bi-annual Wellness Credits
  • Monthly Technology Credit (to offset internet / phone costs)
  • Comprehensive Parental Leave Policy
