Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) is hiring a Prosthetist/Orthotist for an open position in our Houston Medical Office. The office is a lean digital first office that is part of a joint relationship between Baylor College of Medicine and Ottobock Patient Care. The position comes with a full-time faculty appointment and employment through Baylor College of Medicine in the department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Job Duties The clinic manager will have primary responsibility for patient care in the Houston Medical Office including: Maintain a full patient load, and provide proper care and direction to those you are serving Provide direct leadership/mentorship to peers and less experienced clinicians, residents, and students. Create a culture of excellence in patient care striving to maintain expertise through ongoing learning and professional development. Participate in defining the growth strategy for the office including participating in and leading educational sessions with areas physicians, therapists, and healthcare providers as needed. Support the BCM Core Mission Areas including, Clinical Care, Education, and Research. Be a representative of BCM’s values both within and outside the Baylor Community. Actively support others in career development and growth Provides marketing Support Monitor and participate in critical business functions in the Houston office in connection with the regional clinic manager and administrative teams. Work with regional leadership and others in building the expertise and reputation of the office through high quality and consistent care for our patients. Participate and aid in staff planning and resource management, including supporting offsite clinical schedules with Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital Teams. Maintain sound clinical decision making and support others in the office in doing the same while always maintaining highest integrity and ethics. Minimum Qualifications Certified Prosthetist/Orthotist (CPO) with Licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure in the state of Texas. Ongoing employment requires successful granting of a TX license to practice. Formal Educational Training in the Field of Orthotics and Prosthetics is required along with certification by the American Board for Certification. Five years of experience post residency Eligibility to hold Baylor faculty appointment including successful passage of required background check. Leadership/Management experience in leading an O&P practice is preferred, and a history of career growth in the Orthotic and Prosthetic profession is expected. Candidate must have the physical, emotional, and intellectual abilities to maintain and grow their own patient load based on high quality validated care strategies and industry best practices.
