Job Summary

Own and coordinate broad advancement comms for a music conservatory, turning content from recitals and events into donor-ready messaging across PR, digital, and donor communications.

  • Public relations and content strategy: Create multi-channel messaging and PR plans for programs and initiatives.
  • Content and media production: Oversee photography, videography, editing, and distribution with vendors.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Equip internal and external audiences, collaborate with development and education teams, and ghostwrite leadership content.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Implement strategy for all WCM publicity, video content, photography, and written communications.
  • Work collaboratively with WCM vendors, including a digital marketing agency.
  • Support enrollment and fundraising goals and build awareness about WCM to current and potential students, donors, alumni and volunteers.
  • Develop communications inspiring, equipping and activating internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure consistent philanthropic and programmatic messaging, branding, and themes throughout all channels.
  • Develop and implement integrated communications plans for transformational gift announcements within philanthropy channels.
  • Attend select WCM recitals, concerts, external events, recruitment, and partner site classes to capture content for distribution.
  • Manage vendor and consultant relationships on behalf of WCM, especially photographers, videographers, and editors; ensure content is captured, edited, and distributed in a timely fashion.
  • Create and implement a comprehensive PR strategy for WCM’s programs and initiatives.
  • Manage press list.

Requirements

  • Strong storyteller, writer, and editor
  • Experienced in utilizing data-informed strategies
  • Collaborative, strategic, creative and solutions minded
  • Knowledge of photography and videography, including editing
  • Knowledge of basic graphic design principles. Canva experience a plus.
  • Working knowledge of fundraising communications principles, donor engagement, and stewardship best practices.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, project management, and communications skills.

Preferred

  • Experience collaborating with external vendors/digital marketing agencies
