Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Baseball Marketing Strategy, Attendance Growth & Fan Experience: Serve as the primary marketing contact for baseball, developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive marketing, fan engagement, and game presentation plans designed to increase attendance, enhance the game-day atmosphere, and support revenue objectives. Create and execute promotional campaigns, group sales initiatives, theme nights, grassroots marketing efforts, and other attendance-driving programs. Plan, coordinate, and execute all fan experience and game presentation elements for baseball, including game themes, entertainment elements, promotions, sponsor activations, videoboard content, public address announcements, and fan engagement initiatives. Collaborate with coaches, sport administrators, communications, creative services, ticket operations, Learfield, and external partners to execute integrated marketing campaigns and achieve departmental goals.
  • Football Marketing: Serve as the department's secondary football marketing lead, assisting with the planning, execution, and evaluation of comprehensive marketing, fan engagement, and game presentation strategies for one of the department's premier revenue-generating programs. Support attendance growth initiatives, sponsorship fulfillment, game presentation planning, fan engagement efforts, and other football-related marketing responsibilities. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a best-in-class fan experience and successful execution of football marketing initiatives.
  • Revenue Generation, Branding & Strategic Initiatives: Serve on departmental committees related to revenue generation, brand development, and fan engagement. Work with marketing team on the creation, implementation, and evaluation of innovative revenue-generating events and fan experiences that support departmental goals. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify new opportunities for attendance growth, sponsorship activation, fan development, community engagement, and revenue generation. Support strategic initiatives designed to strengthen the Gamecock Athletics brand and enhance the overall fan experience.
  • Mascot Program: Direct and oversee all aspects of the Athletics mascot program, including recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation, and management of mascot staff. Ensure the mascot program supports departmental branding, fan engagement, community outreach, and promotional objectives.
  • Administrative Responsibilities: Assist with departmental administrative responsibilities, special projects, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in a job related field and 4 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing strategic marketing plans, attendance initiatives, and fan engagement programs.
  • Experience planning and executing game presentation and promotional activities for athletic events.
  • Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by athletic event schedules. Experience collaborating with multimedia rights partners, ticket operations, communications, creative services, and external stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Master's degree in sport management, business administration, marketing, communications, or a related field and seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in a related field.
  • Experience working in NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics, preferably at the Power Four level.
  • Experience with strategic planning and departmental operations.
