Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Own and lead ConsumerAffairs’ organic social media strategy across platforms (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Reddit), aligning with broader marketing and brand goals.
  • Develop and manage the social media editorial calendar, planning timely, relevant, and engaging content.
  • Create and publish high-performing social content, including copywriting, visuals, and platform-native posts.
  • Lead the company’s organic video strategy, ideating short-form and long-form content and collaborating with creators and editors to produce it.
  • Identify trends, formats, and platform opportunities to keep the brand culturally relevant and competitive.
  • Manage community engagement, including responding to comments, messages, and fostering meaningful interactions with audiences.
  • Collaborate with the paid marketing team to align organic and paid social efforts, sharing insights that improve campaign performance.
  • Analyze social performance metrics and use insights to optimize content, test new formats, and grow audience reach and engagement.
  • Act as the primary owner of the brand’s social presence, operating independently while continuously testing and improving strategy.
  • Leverage AI-powered tools to enhance content ideation, video production workflows, social listening, and performance analysis—using emerging technologies to improve efficiency, creativity, and audience insights.

Requirements

  • BA in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience managing social media for a brand, publisher, or consumer-facing company
  • Experience developing and executing organic video strategies, especially short-form video.
  • Ability to independently plan, execute, and optimize a full social media program from strategy through publishing and reporting
  • Comfortable using social analytics and scheduling tools to track performance
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment along with the ability to accept interruptions as part of the routine
  • Self-starter approach to work, with an eagerness to consistently meet and exceed objectives and a willingness to take on additional responsibility
  • Familiarity with social analytics tools and platform-native insights (Instagram Insights, TikTok Analytics, etc.)
  • Proficiency with video editing tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or similar platforms
  • Familiarity with AI tools that support social media workflows, including content ideation, editing, and analytics.
