Job Summary

Own regional retail marketing for NC agriculture, turning market needs into retail growth and building executive buyer relationships to win shelf space.

  • Channel ownership: lead retail programs from strategy to promotions in grocery, c-store, and specialty channels.
  • Buyer relationships: open doors with retail executives and buyers to boost NC product visibility.
  • Market intelligence: translate needs into actionable plans and support producers as they scale retail presence.

Job Description

  • Leads retail marketing programs that help NC agricultural businesses succeed in grocery, convenience, and specialty retail channels.
  • Analyzing market needs, developing marketing strategies, guiding promotional plans, and supporting producers and value added food companies as they grow their retail presence.
  • Building strong relationships with retail executives and buyers to open doors for North Carolina products and strengthen their visibility on store shelves.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Knowledge of marketing, sales, and procedures
  • Knowledge of agriculture
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite like Outlook, Word, Teams, etc.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to plan, organize, and direct work operations
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, crop science, animal science, horticulture, home economics or related area of assignment from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of experience in the related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
