Job Summary

Own education programming for ag literacy with a focus on classroom resources, teacher development, and large-scale events while coordinating annual budget planning and grant funding.

  • Education Content: Develop materials that teach core concepts using agricultural facts and align with standards.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Plan and run teacher PD, classroom events, and educator-focused trips or conferences.
  • Funding & Planning: Source grants and help set a yearly budget and strategic plan with the Ag in the Classroom team.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop teacher resources that convey basic educational concepts using agricultural facts.
  • Conduct professional development activities featuring Ag in the Classroom materials.
  • Conduct student events featuring ag literacy concepts with small and large groups of children.
  • Plan and facilitate trips, tours, workshops and conferences for teachers, industry leaders and non-traditional educators.
  • Seek out and apply for grant funding to enhance the existing program.
  • Plan and coordinate events with 30-300 attendees.
  • Works with the Ag in the Classroom team to prepare a budget and strategic plan each year.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience: Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a bachelor’s degree in agriculture plus two years of qualifying experience or a closely related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of experience in marketing agricultural commodities or value added processed products for each year of the required education.
  • Applicant should have a current Oklahoma teaching certificate, a minimum of one year of classroom experience and have extensive knowledge of Oklahoma academic standards.
  • Position is field-based and frequent in-state travel is required.
