Job Description

Responsibilities

  • In this role, the Account Director will manage the day-to-day on their accounts, partnering with creative, strategy, and production leads to successfully run the business.
  • You have a strong relationship with the day-to-day clients and are fiscally responsible for efficiently running their business.
  • The Account Director reports to the Account Lead and brings them in for key internal and client meetings.
  • Command the room in internal and external meetings
  • Be decisive in ambiguous situations and critical moments
  • Be masterful in engaging in healthy debates both internally and externally to ensure you are doing what's right for the business or what's right for the agency
  • Keep the team engaged, happy, and motivated through the most challenging tasks
  • Change any conversation from negative to positive
  • Be passionate about every project so it trickles through to the entire team
  • Set the business vision for the account and manage agency operations and finance to deliver those goals

Requirements

  • The Business Director is a client partner, agile and accountable, with 8-14+ years of experience.
  • You have a broad understanding of client business problems and objectives, not just the projects within the agency.
  • You contribute to the quality and effectiveness of strategy and champion creative excellence.
  • You are a champion of the TBWA business goals, and you can connect the dots between culture, content, and context to seek out new growth opportunities.
  • As you develop in this role, the Business Director will master the skills that will prepare you for a Business Lead role – command of the business, command of the room, mastery of debate, and motivation of the army.
  • You have a strong relationship with the day-to-day clients and are fiscally responsible for efficiently running their business.
  • Location: Given the nature of client team, we are only considering candidates that currently live in or wish to relocate to New York City.

Preferred

  • A seasoned Account Director, someone who has operated at this level in the social space.
  • Ideally, coming from an agency that specializes in social or has led a social offering at an agency.
  • Someone who naturally thinks in social platforms, knows what best-in-class social work looks like, has developed social strategies, and led clients through them.
  • Someone up for the operational challenge of better establishing social at the agency and working through some challenges.
  • Is excited about working on a fast-paced client and is excited about the category.
  • Eager to grow a discipline and capable of scaling the social offering.
  • Someone willing to stretch up and down, no task is too big or small.
  • They are collaborative and can connect dots across the discipline and partner closely with the Account Director leading the brand.
