Job Summary

Own social storytelling for a theatre by turning on-brand video and static content into consistent, audience-building posts across multiple platforms, while coordinating a calendar and on-site shoots to capture performances and auditions and turning data into faster recommendations.

  • Content Creation & Distribution: produce social assets for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube and write captions.
  • Campaign Planning & Collaboration: maintain the content calendar, work with staff and performers, and capture behind-the-scenes content when needed.
  • Performance Insight: monitor trends, analyze metrics, and translate findings into actionable ideas for engagement.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Create high-quality content for social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube (shorts).
  • Film and edit video content (using Canva, CapCut or Adobe Premiere).
  • Develop and maintain a content calendar to support the theatre’s programming and campaigns.
  • You may be required on occasion to attend auditions, rehearsals, performances and events to capture engaging content.
  • Write compelling captions and promotional copy.
  • Monitor trends and identify creative opportunities to increase audience engagement.
  • Analyse social media performance and provide regular insights and recommendations.
  • Work collaboratively with staff, visiting production companies and performers to tell the theatre’s stories.
  • Assist with wider marketing initiatives as required.

Requirements

  • Experience in creating content for social media platforms for an organisation (minimum of 2 years experience).
  • A portfolio of assets showcasing your editing and content creation skills.
  • Skilled in video filming and editing using mobile and desktop editing tools.
  • Creative, proactive and full of ideas.
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Confident communicating with a wide range of people.
  • Familiar with social media analytics and best practice.
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Passionate about theatre, arts and live entertainment.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a theatre, arts organisation or entertainment setting would be advantageous but is not essential.

Benefits
