Marketing and Communications Officer

Responsibilities

• Taking the lead on our day-to-day marketing and communications, including: * Creating engaging social media content across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube * Telling the individual stories of our rescued residents with compassion and authenticity * Planning and delivering fundraising campaigns and appeals * Producing newsletters, mailshots and supporter communications * Managing and updating our WordPress website * Creating digital content and graphics using Canva * Developing warm and effective donor and supporter communications * Using social media, email, website and supporter data to understand what is working and improve future activity * Promoting Sanctuary events, visits, campaigns and partnerships * Maintaining a forward communications and content calendar * Helping ensure a consistent Dean Farm Trust voice across all our communications

Requirements

• Marketing: 2 years (required)
• proven experience in marketing, communications or digital content
• strong writing and storytelling skills
• practical social media experience
• confidence using tools such as WordPress, Mailchimp, Canva and Meta Business Suite
• organised, proactive and comfortable managing several priorities within a part-time role
• Experience of supporter, donor or customer communications is important, along with an understanding of how good communications can strengthen relationships and support fundraising.

Preferred

• Experience within a charity, fundraising, animal welfare or another values-led organisation would be helpful but is not essential.
