Job Summary

Own and execute growth initiatives across trials and partner sign-ups, building email nurture, outbound outreach, SEO monitoring, social channels, and a simple performance dashboard.

  • Lead email nurture and lifecycle programs to convert trials to paying customers
  • Build outbound partner outreach to accountants and bookkeepers while tracking impact
  • Monitor key growth metrics and report on progress to the team

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • You'll help drive our two key numbers: new trials, and new accountant/partner sign-ups.
  • You'll start by supporting and executing, and grow into owning more as you find your feet.
  • Email & lifecycle marketing (ActiveCampaign). You'll build and run our email programme: welcome and onboarding sequences, trial-to-paid nurture, re-engagement, and campaigns aimed at the cohorts that matter (sole traders, landlords, contractors, and the April 2027 wave). We'll teach you the platform if you haven't used it. What matters is that you're keen to learn it properly.
  • Cold outbound to partners (Instantly). The accountant-partner channel is a referral engine we've barely touched. You'll help build and run outbound campaigns to accountancy practices and bookkeepers: researching lists, drafting sequences that don't sound like spam, and learning the technical craft that makes cold email actually land in inboxes. It's a genuinely useful skill to own early in your career.
  • Watch the SEO & GEO numbers. You don't need to build technical SEO (that's handled separately), but you'll keep an eye on how we're doing: organic trial starts, rankings, and increasingly GEO, which is whether AI assistants like ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude recommend us when someone asks for MTD software. You'll learn to read GA4 and Search Console and flag when something moves.
  • Run our social channels. You'll own our day-to-day social presence: planning a simple content calendar, writing and scheduling posts, and building our voice on the platforms that matter for us (LinkedIn first, since that's where accountants and small-business owners are). A lot of this is repurposing what we already have, turning MTD guides and product updates into posts, and joining the conversations our audience is already having about the April 2027 changes. It's a great channel to own early because you see the results quickly and it's genuinely yours.
  • Keep the scoreboard. You'll help maintain one simple dashboard with the numbers that matter (trials, partner sign-ups, social engagement, and the early GEO signals) so the whole team can see what's working.

Requirements

  • You pick things up fast and run with them. Give you an idea and a bit of direction, and you make it happen rather than waiting to be told each step. This is the single most important thing.
  • You can write clearly. Both halves of this job, email nurture and partner outreach, are writing jobs. You don't need to be a copywriter yet, but you need a good ear for a sentence.
  • You're comfortable with numbers and tools. You're the kind of person who'll happily get into GA4 or a new platform and figure it out. No fear of spreadsheets or dashboards.
  • You're genuinely enthusiastic about this: a growing company, a real product, and a market that's about to change. We'd rather have energy and curiosity than polish.
  • UK-based, and either already familiar with the UK small-business and tax world (MTD, accountants, self-assessment) or clearly able and keen to get up to speed fast.

Preferred

  • A placement, internship, or 1 to 2 years in a marketing, growth or sales role
  • Any hands-on exposure to email tools (ActiveCampaign, Mailchimp, Klaviyo) or outbound tools (Instantly, Lemlist)
  • Experience running social channels for a brand or project.
  • Some familiarity with GA4, Search Console, or basic SEO
  • Interest in AI tools. We use them heavily and will expect you to.

Benefits

  • Company events
  • Company pension
  • Work from home
