Job Summary

Lead and orchestrate Public Programmes marketing to drive audience engagement and sales across live and digital strands, while coordinating with education, touring, and partners and tracking ACE reporting.

  • Marketing Leadership: Oversee cross-channel campaign development and delivery for Public Programmes to convert interest into sales.
  • Audience Analytics: Monitor audience makeup and feed organisational analysis and ACE reporting.
  • People & Partnerships: Manage Marketing Officers and freelancers; collaborate with producers, venues, and partners across the UK.

  • Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Head of Marketing: Public Programmes will oversee all sales, marketing, and audience development strategies for live and digital projects for strands of Public Programmes at The Place and on tour.
  • \n
  • A lead role in the strategic approach in communicating our public programmes, supporting the Director of Communications to also be able to focus attention on the London Contemporary Dance School (LCDS) and broader institutional communications.

  • This post holder will oversee all Public Programmes marketing activities including cross-channel campaign development and delivery to keep our audience appraised of programmes and convert interest to sales.
  • \n
  • This post holder will monitor audience makeup and evaluate campaigns to feed into organisational analysis and Arts Council England (ACE) reporting.
  • \n
  • They will manage two Marketing Officers who work across Public Programmes at The Place, and occasionally manage freelance marketeers on project-based work.
  • \n
  • In addition, they will manage and work closely with a large ream of freelance designers, filmmakers, photographers, and suppliers as needed.
  • \n
  • The Head of Marketing: Public Programmes will work closely with the rest of the communications team to maximise opportunities to profile The Place in line with our brand values, including: working with the Press and PR Manager to support efforts to feature as much of our Public Programmes as possible in reviews, previews and blog posts; and collaborating with the Marketing Manager: Education Programmes to profile connections with the London Contemporary Dance School (e.g. alumni performing in programmed work).

  • They will also work closely with our Projects Producers and Senior Producer in the Producing & Touring team, and with independent artists and producers, nurturing existing, and developing new relationships, with venues and partners of varying shapes and sizes across the UK.
