Drive UpRoot’s content and video program as a remote advocate-education creator, delivering policy explainers, on-camera hosting, and rapid-response content to engage communities and partners.

Own content calendar, multi-platform posts (minimum 5x/week), and Substack collaboration.

Production: Script content for UpRoot and its partners.
Editing: Perform basic video editing or collaborate with an editor to ensure high-quality output.
Community Engagement: Respond to comments/DMs and manage ManyChat integrations to foster a vibrant community.
Substack Management: Collaborate with UpRoot leadership on weekly Substack posts.
Analytics: Monitor performance, track engagement, and adjust strategies based on data.
On-Camera Brand Ambassador
Hosting: Act as a consistent face for UpRoot by hosting various videos.
Education: Deliver policy breakdowns and create introduction/explainer content.
Newsroom Mentality: Provide rapid response content to relevant breaking news.
Output: Produce approximately 4 videos per week.

Requirements

Experience: 2 or more years of social media experience, preferably within the advocacy or nonprofit sectors, but other experience including building a personal social media brand will be considered.
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in video editing, scripting, content strategy, and email marketing with a willingness to learn and adapt to the latest tools.
