Job Description
We are seeking a driven, detail-oriented Copy Editor to join the Healio News Group and ensure the highest-quality news content is delivered to our physician audience. The Copy Editor will be responsible for editing, proofreading, and fact-checking articles and their components, ensuring compliance with style guides, and maintaining the integrity of the content.
Responsibilities

• Edit, proofread, and fact-check articles and their components, including social media assets and infographics.
• Edit, proofread, and fact-check page proofs.
• Perform deep edits on articles, reworking the phrasing or structure of a story when necessary, and leaving suggested changes or feedback when appropriate.
• Ensure articles are written in the author’s own words, and check for plagiarism and AI-generated content.
• Review articles for balance.
• Adhere to AP, AMA, and in-house style guides.
• Ensure articles are formatted and styled correctly.
  

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, or Journalism.
• 3 to 5 years of editing experience.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
  

Additional Information
The annual base salary for this position is $50,000 to $60,000. Placement within this range is determined by various factors, including knowledge, skills, education, years of experience, and equity with internal team members. Employees living within a 50-mile radius will be scheduled to work two days per week in our Thorofare, NJ location. Remote applicants will be considered.
