Job Description
Responsibilities
- The main responsibility of this position will be to work closely with our Public Affairs team to create social media assets to use for communication through our various platforms. To attend student life events to capture photos, videos and testimonials to share through social media.
- Work closely with the social media specialist to create media for promotions
- Assist the Public Affairs team with setting up and covering BSC events, such as Explore BSC, program-specific open houses, press conferences and more
- Willing to participate as social media talent, including the mascot
- Support off-campus outreach events by capturing photos, video, and interviews when applicable
- Maintain good relations while working with faculty, staff and customers
- Support innovation, creativity and ideas to enhance processes in the Public Affairs department and colleg
- Willing to engage with the student body for content
- Willing to learn simple video and/or reel editing skills
- Willing to research current trends and successful campaigns across various social media platforms
Requirements
- A strong understanding of various social media platforms (such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, LinkedIn, etc.)
- The ability to bring fresh ideas and innovative approaches for content creation and community engagement.
- Strong communication skills: Both written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to effectively convey messages, engage with followers, and write compelling captions and posts.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple projects.
- The ability to work independently and handle interruptions.
- The ability to lift to 30 pounds (essential function).
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively with diverse personalities.
Preferred
- Working knowledge of – Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Knowledge of the college's culture, values, and target audience.
