Role: WordPress Migration Migration Specialist

We are seeking an experienced WordPress Migration Specialist to support a large-scale web modernization initiative focused on migrating websites from a legacy hosting platform to a centralized WordPress environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with WordPress website migrations, accessibility standards, SEO preservation, and customer-facing support.

Key Responsibilities

• Migrate WordPress websites from legacy hosting environments to a centralized platform
• Validate content, functionality, links, and media after migration
• Preserve SEO through redirects and URL management
• Assess existing website functionality and recommend compatible solutions/plugins
• Work directly with stakeholders to gather requirements and support migration planning
• Identify and address web accessibility issues in alignment with WCAG standards
• Coordinate DNS/domain updates related to website migrations
• Track migration requests, maintain documentation, and provide status updates
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve migration issues

Required Qualifications

• 3–5 years of WordPress CMS experience
• Experience with website migration projects
• Knowledge of:
  • SEO redirects
  • WCAG accessibility standards
  • DNS/domain configuration
  • Plugin and content management
• Strong communication and customer support skills
• Ability to manage multiple migration projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Git or version control tools
• Experience working in higher education or enterprise web environments
