Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our WIC Program Coordinator, you will provide oversight and coordination of WIC program operations within assigned WIC clinics, ensuring services are delivered effectively and in accordance with established program objectives, federal and state regulations, and organizational standards. You will support staff, coordinate daily clinic operations, and serve as a resource to ensure WIC clients receive appropriate nutrition services, education, screening, and referrals to community resources.
Every day you will coordinate program activities, support staff development and performance, monitor clinic resources and supplies, provide direct WIC services, and help implement program policies and procedures. You will collaborate with WIC Managers, Coordinators, clinic staff, and community partners to promote consistent, high-quality services and a positive experience for WIC clients.

You will be comfortable balancing program oversight with hands-on support and working collaboratively to address challenges and improve WIC program operations.
  • Coordinate WIC program operations and staff activities, partnering with the WIC Manager to support scheduling, new employee orientation, training needs, performance evaluations, staff meetings, in-service training, and workshops.
  • Provides direct WIC services to clients, including determining program eligibility, documenting services, providing nutrition education and follow-up screening, assessing nutrition needs, and referring eligible clients to appropriate community resources.
  • Serves as a subject matter resource for clinic staff, providing guidance on complex client needs and supporting staff in delivering appropriate, consistent, and high-quality WIC services.
  • Implements and communicates federal and state WIC requirements, explaining new or revised policies, procedures, forms, systems, tools, and program expectations to staff and supporting compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Oversees clinic resources and operational needs, including ordering supplies, maintaining appropriate inventory levels, demonstrating new systems, applications, equipment, or supplies, and helping ensure efficient day-to-day clinic operations.
  • Collaborate across the WIC program and organization with other Coordinators, managers, and clinic teams to implement and administer program services, support continuous improvement, and assist with marketing and outreach efforts as directed.
Job Requirements
Required
  • Associates degree in a related field and two years of work experience in a WIC clinic that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities.
Preferred
  • One year of experience in a “lead” or supervisor capacity preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nutrition sciences or public health nutrition is preferred.
  • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
