Overview Advise public company clients on equity positioning, earnings communications, capital markets strategy, and special situations. Partner directly with senior executives to shape messaging, strengthen Street credibility, and drive long-term valuation outcomes. Providing strategic guidance and hands-on execution support. Responsibilities Strategic Advisory Advise public and private company clients on equity positioning, earnings communications, capital markets strategy, and special situations, while leading execution across investor engagement, targeting, and event preparation Develop differentiated equity stories and long-term investment theses Align external messaging with client strategy and capital allocation priorities Anticipate investor concerns and guide positioning to reduce earnings call surprises Earnings & Financial Communications Lead preparation of quarterly earnings materials, including earnings and financial press releases, earnings call scripts, and comprehensive management Q&A Translate complex financial and operational performance into clear, investable narratives Develop IR materials including shareholder letters, investor presentations, fact sheets, and website content Targeting Develop targeted buy-side outreach strategies by leveraging ownership data, screening tools, and in-depth research to build curated investor target lists Identify and prioritize sell-side research analysts for coverage initiation by analyzing sector focus, institutional following, research quality, and alignment with the company’s investment thesis Additional Monitor investor activity, peer performance, analyst commentary, shareholder base changes, and industry developments; synthesize findings into actionable insights for clients Own preparation and logistics for investor conferences and meetings, including calendar scheduling, providing detailed briefing materials, investor bios, and execution support Support business development initiatives and contribute to team-wide projects as needed Qualifications 8-12 years of experience in financial communications (agency or in-house IR), equity sales, equity research, accounting, or related IR/capital markets role Strong understanding of financial statements, valuation drivers, and capital markets dynamics Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to distill complex information clearly and persuasively Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills Comfortable interacting with C-suite executives and senior leadership teams Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple workstreams independently Familiarity with Bloomberg Terminal, Capital IQ, or related tools preferred Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Communications, or related field Benefits Sloane is committed to pay equity. Sloane believes the target range of base compensation in this role is between $125,000-$165,000. In addition to base salary, Sloane considers other key components as part of total compensation, including but not limited to an annual discretionary bonus, commission on new business, and a comprehensive benefits package. Actual base compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors, such as skillset , level of experience, and location.
