Temporary Kitchen Staff – Food Truck (Event Position)

Job Overview

Secret Sauce Society is hiring energetic, outgoing, and reliable team members to support a temporary food activation at the San Diego Interactive Zone. This immersive brand experience includes a large-scale immersive activation, a fully functioning convenience store experience, and a food truck serving samples to an expected thousands of guests throughout the festival.

We are looking for team members who thrive in fast-paced environments and can represent the brand with professionalism and enthusiasm.

This is a temporary event-based position with opportunities for future brand activations and events.

Event Dates

• Setup Days: July 22nd (10 AM - 8 PM)
• Event Days:
• July 23-25th (10 AM – 5 PM)
• July 26th (10 AM – 4 PM)
• Load Out: July 26th (4 PM - 12 AM)

Role Responsibilities

This position includes a variety of responsibilities that may include but are not limited to:

• Prepare and assemble food samples for menu items according to instructions
• Assist with food prep before and during service
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Restock ingredients and supplies as needed
• Help with opening, closing, and cleanup duties

Who We are Looking For

• Previous food handling or kitchen experience required (restaurant, food truck, or similar)
• Food Handler Card is a plus (or willingness to obtain one if required)
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable taking direction and working as part of a team
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.

Qualifications

• 18 years old or older
• Valid Food Handlers Permit
• Reliable transportation to and from the event venue
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Strong communicator, punctuality, and positive attitude

Nice to Have

• Previous experience working large scale events with high amount of traffic
