Technical Support Specialist — Web & Software (Dealership Clients)
Grand Rapids, MI (On-site)
Posted 4 weeks ago
Job Description
Overview
We build and manage the digital side of the business for specialty-vehicle dealerships, primarily trailer, powersports, RV, marine, and equipment dealers across North America. Our clients rely on us for their websites, inventory software, and marketing, which means they call us about a lot of different things.
Our customers are dealership owners, managers, and office staff. Most aren't technical, all are busy, and every one of them needs a straight answer without jargon.
The Role
You'll be the first point of contact for most of our client base, working a mixed queue of platform questions, configuration help, marketing requests, and the occasional domain or email issue, resolving what you can and routing the rest. You'll also take inbound calls from dealership staff who'd rather talk it through than type it out.
The work is varied and rarely scripted. We're not looking for someone who already knows our tools. We're looking for someone who's sharp with software generally, learns new systems fast, and can reason through an unfamiliar problem without waiting for a script.
What You'll Do
- Triage and resolve tickets across multiple queues; route what belongs elsewhere
- Take support calls and walk dealership staff through issues in plain language
- Help dealers configure our platform: inventory tools, account settings, tracking setup
- Assist with account-level tasks like domain and email changes, coordinating with outside providers as needed
- Keep the queue moving: set expectations, follow up, close the loop
What You'll Need
- Strong general technical fluency. You navigate unfamiliar software, settings panels, and admin dashboards without hand-holding.
- Fast on new tools. A track record of picking up systems you've never touched.
- A working mental model of how websites, hosting, domains, and online accounts connect.
- Ticketing experience (Intercom, Zendesk, or similar) managing a mixed queue under real triage pressure.
- Clear, patient communication Both written and on the phone, with non-technical clients.
Nice to Have
WordPress or similar platforms · DNS, email hosting, or domain administration · Google Ads, GA4, or basic SEO · SMB SaaS or managed-services support · dealership, automotive, or powersports background
Who Does Well Here
- Strong triage instincts. You know what to solve now, what to escalate, and where your lane ends
- A learner's reflex. Hitting something new makes you dig in, not pass it along
- An even keel. Frustrated customers don't rattle you
- Precision where it counts. You double-check before you hit save on anything hard to undo
