Try Career AgentJob Title Student Loan Spokesperson & Brand Ambassador Location In-office Employment Type Full-time Role Overview Yrefy is seeking a Student Loan Spokesperson & Brand Ambassador to serve as the public-facing voice of our brand. This role sits at the intersection of journalism, research, and on-camera communication. You will be responsible for staying deeply informed on student loan policy, industry news, and borrower-related developments, translating that information into clear, timely insights, and representing Yrefy across media appearances, social content, and borrower testimonials. This is not a traditional marketing role. It is a journalistic, research-driven position that requires strong critical thinking, fast comprehension of complex topics, and confidence in communicating them on camera. You will work closely with the Social Media Manager and broader marketing team, receiving direction on content needs while contributing subject-matter insight that shapes Yrefy’s thought leadership. Schedule & Availability This role requires some schedule flexibility to support media opportunities. Interviews may occasionally take place outside standard business hours (early mornings or evenings), depending on media schedules. These instances are not daily, but candidates should be comfortable with occasional off-hours availability as part of a public-facing spokesperson role. Key Responsibilities Student Loan Research & Thought Leadership Monitor daily news, policy updates, and trends related to student loans, higher education financing, and borrower issues Quickly assess what developments matter most to borrowers and the public Translate complex news into clear, accurate, and digestible insights through a Yrefy lens Serve as an internal resource for student loan knowledge across marketing and communications Media & Public Representation Act as Yrefy's primary on-camera spokesperson for media interviews, news segments, and public commentary Respond quickly and confidently to media inquiries, often on short notice Communicate nuanced topics clearly, credibly, and empathetically On-Camera Content Hosting Serve as the on-camera face for Yrefy's educational and thought leadership video content Collaborate with the Social Media Manager on scripts, talking points, and content structure Deliver short-form and long-form video content explaining current student loan topics Maintain a calm, professional, and approachable on-camera presence Borrower Testimonial Interviews Conduct recorded borrower testimonial interviews, gathering authentic stories about the Yrefy experience Guide conversations with empathy and clarity to produce strong narrative content Coordinate with internal teams and video editors to support testimonial production Cross-Team Collaboration Report trends, insights, and emerging topics to the marketing team on a regular basis Work closely with the Social Media Manager to align messaging, timing, and content priorities Support broader brand storytelling efforts as needed Qualifications Background in journalism, communications, public relations or a related field Strong research and information synthesis skills Ability to quickly understand and explain complex financial or policy topics Comfort and confidence speaking on camera Strong verbal communication and critical thinking skills Ability to work under tight timelines when news breaks Preferred Experience covering education, finance, policy, or consumer-focused topics Prior on-camera experience (news, reporting, hosting, podcasts, video content, etc.) Familiarity with student loans or willingness to rapidly develop subject-matter expertise Portfolio or examples of on-camera work (video clips, interviews, segments)
