Graduate Assistant
The Department of Social, Behavioral and Population Sciences (SBPS) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tulane student to serve as a Graduate Assistant. The assists with daily office tasks and supports faculty and staff.
Position Type: Student Worker (Part-Time)
Hours per Week: 10–20 hours/week (flexible scheduling around class commitments)
Compensation: $15 / hour
Location: On-site | Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine | Downtown, New Orleans, LA
Responsibilities
  • Greet visitors, respond to emails, and manage office supplies and equipment
  • Assist with departmental communications, events, and student-facing outreach
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of shared spaces, including the kitchen, lobby and copy room
  • Collect and organize departmental mail and deliveries for timely distribution
  • Assist with special projects as assigned
Required
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Currently enrolled as a full-time graduate student at Tulane University in good academic standing
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly and professional manner
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and/or Google Workspace
Preferred
  • Federal Work-Study Eligibility
  • Interest or coursework in public health, social sciences, health policy, or related fields
  • Prior administrative, office, or customer service experience
