Job Summary

Own and drive Tulane Cancer Center's integrated marketing efforts across social media, content creation, event support, and website updates.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Social Media Management: Assist with planning and maintaining a social media content calendar and in developing and posting content, including graphics & text. Monitor several adjacent social media channels on a weekly basis to identify cancer-relevant posts for sharing. Monitor and manage comments and engage with followers on the Tulane Cancer Center’s social media accounts.
  • Copywriting and copyediting: Assist with editorial preparation / review of various written and electronic communications, including fact sheets, information packets, proposals, e-newsletters, etc. Help ensure that all marketing materials align with center brand guidelines.
  • Fundraisers, Meeting Planning & Special Events - Assist in the planning and production of a variety of Tulane Cancer Center fundraisers, meetings, and other special events
  • Website content management: Update, format, and publish web content using Drupal.
  • Other duties as required. Duties will evolve with the possibility of increasing responsibility and opportunity for independent projects.

Requirements

  • Active enrollment as a student at Tulane University
  • Excellent proofreading and editing skills.
  • Excellent time-management skills: must be punctual, timely, and deadline-oriented
  • Extremely strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate communications and timelines for multi-step projects on a team.
  • Strong writing skills as demonstrated by grades in past coursework.
  • Ability to follow and enforce brand guidelines.
  • Customer service skills to be used in email and digital platforms.
  • Working knowledge of standard computer programs, specifically Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Box.
  • Experience in or willingness to learn digital marketing tools such as Canva, Drupal, Constant Contact, Qualtrics, Google Analytics, Eventbrite, and social media management tools.
  • A Federal Work Study Award (potentially)
