Job Summary

Own the end-to-end production of Databricks short-form video content, from building a proactive content pipeline and storyboard to editing with AI-assisted tools, while collaborating with cross-functional teams and continuously optimizing for discovery and performance.

  • Own video format and workflow across campaigns
  • Lead rapid, data-informed creative decisions to shape future content
  • Drive integration of AI tools while preserving creative quality

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • You've built a repeatable short-form content engine for Databricks' brand channels. You've established a topic pipeline and storyboarding process — pulling from blogs, launches, webinars, and exec talks — so video output is planned and proactive rather than reactive, requiring strong content marketing instincts and the ability to work independently from a brief.
  • You've turned raw SME footage into a recognizable, high-performing video style. Unscripted or lightly-scripted footage from engineers and executives is consistently shaped into tight, retention-optimized cuts that feel native to each platform, requiring sharp post-production editing skills and a strong eye for pacing and story.
  • You've made AI tools a core part of the production workflow, not a bolt-on. Turnaround time on video production has meaningfully decreased because you've integrated AI-assisted editing, transcription, captioning, and repurposing tools into daily work, while keeping a human hand on creative quality — requiring genuine fluency with modern AI video tools and the judgment to know when not to rely on them.
  • Databricks' short-form content is measurably easier to find and surface, including by AI answer engines. Video (and its supporting metadata, captions, and repurposed text) is produced with AIO/GEO best practices in mind, requiring a working understanding of how AI-driven discovery and recommendation systems evaluate content.
  • Motion graphics have elevated the brand's video content beyond straight cuts. Animated explainers, kinetic text, and simple data visualizations are a regular part of the content mix, requiring hands-on motion graphics and animation skills (e.g., After Effects).
  • Cross-functional partners trust you to run with a brief. Content marketing, product marketing, and executive comms treat you as an owner of the video format, not just an execution resource — requiring strong collaboration skills and consistent, on-brand judgment across a high volume of content.
  • Video performance data actively shapes what gets made next. You track engagement and retention metrics across channels and use them to adjust format, pacing, and topic selection over time, requiring a data-informed approach to creative decisions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional video editing experience, ideally with in-house or agency experience producing short-form social content for a brand.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating short-form editing (15–90 second formats): hook design, pacing, storytelling in compressed formats, and platform-native style.
  • Proficiency in professional editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro and/or DaVinci Resolve; After Effects for motion graphics).
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted video editing and production tools, and interest in keeping pace with how AI is changing the editing workflow.
  • Working knowledge of AIO/GEO principles and how they intersect with social content strategy — or strong aptitude and interest in developing this.
  • Motion graphics and animation skills: lower thirds, kinetic typography, simple data visualizations, branded templates.
  • Content marketing sensibility: comfortable turning a brief or a long-form asset into a short-form video concept and shot list without heavy hand-holding.
  • Understanding of audio editing/sound design and caption/text-overlay design for sound-off viewing.
  • Ability to manage multiple videos in production simultaneously and hit fast turnaround deadlines in a high-volume content environment.
  • Experience translating technical or B2B subject matter into accessible, engaging content is a strong plus.

Preferred

  • Ownership of video format across campaigns.
