Job Summary

WVE Media is hiring a Software Engineer to support our product and engineering teams across multiple platforms. This is a hands-on role for an engineer who moves fast, writes solid code, and treats AI as a core part of how they work.

We move quickly, ship constantly, and expect our engineers to own their work end-to-end. If you're energized by tight turnarounds, comfortable shipping production code at pace, and genuinely good at using AI to accelerate development without sacrificing quality, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and ship features across the full stack on multiple internal and product-facing platforms
• Architect scalable back-end systems and services that are performant, reliable, and built to evolve
• Design and maintain APIs that other engineers, designers, and internal teams can build against cleanly
• Integrate with third-party APIs, AI models, and external services as needed
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and other engineering team members to translate requirements into shipped product
• Use AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, v0, and emerging platforms) as a core part of your daily workflow to accelerate development and iteration
• Build and refine AI-assisted development workflows that compress shipping cycles without compromising code quality
• Own deployment, monitoring, and performance across staging and production environments
• Manage multiple concurrent workstreams against tight deadlines
• Stay ahead of new AI models, frameworks, and infrastructure tools, and bring them into the team's workflow

Qualifications

• 4 or more years of professional software engineering experience with a track record of shipped production systems
• Strong full-stack capability, with deep experience on the back end (Node.js, Python, or Go) and comfort on the front end (React, Next.js, TypeScript)
• Hands-on experience building with AI and ML APIs, including LLMs and generative tools
• Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar), including storage, queues, and serverless
• Experience designing and maintaining REST or GraphQL APIs, plus a solid handle on databases (Postgres, Redis, or similar)
• Deep, hands-on fluency with AI coding tools and AI-assisted development workflows. This is non-negotiable
• Demonstrated ability to ship fast without breaking things. We care about velocity and quality equally
• Comfort working closely with designers and translating Figma into well-built, performant interfaces
• Self-directed, deadline-driven, and comfortable owning ambiguous problems end-to-end
• Bonus: experience with real-time systems, WebSockets, background job orchestration, or media processing
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred but not required. Shipped work speaks louder than credentials
