Job Summary

Turn conversations into consumable clips for social first. Own the short form storytelling loop from interview to platform ready moments, with a focus on pacing and audience engagement for Bay Area stories.

  • Video curation and editing: turn long form interviews into short form clips that travel across YouTube Shorts, Reels, and TikTok
  • Moment extraction: pull out impactful quotes and insights for shareable content
  • Platform optimization: tailor pacing and cuts to each platform to maximize watch time and shares

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Edit compelling short-form videos from long-form interviews
  • Identify impactful moments, insights, and memorable quotes
  • Create content optimized for YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, TikTok, and other platforms
  • Help expand the reach of stories that matter

Requirements

  • Has experience with or a strong interest in video editing (Premiere Pro, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, Opus Clips, etc.)
  • Has a strong sense of pacing, storytelling, and audience engagement
  • Is curious about journalism, Bay Area stories, and the future
  • Can work independently and meet deadlines
  • Enjoys turning conversations into content people want to watch and share
