Role Description
We are seeking a Senior Technical Merchandise Designer with deep expertise in apparel and product development to lead the design, engineering, and execution of complex merchandise programs. This role requires a highly skilled operator who can bridge creative vision with technical precision—bringing products from concept through production at the highest level.
You will work directly with internal teams and major enterprise clients to design, develop, and deliver premium merchandise across apparel and hard goods categories.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in technical design, product development, or related field
- Deep expertise in: Apparel construction, patterns, and fit development
- Decoration techniques: screen print, embroidery, patches, dyeing, and specialty applications
- Soft goods and hard goods development
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)
- Strong ability to create production-ready technical files and documentation
- Experience working with overseas factories and production processes
- Proven ability to design and engineer complex, high-quality products at scale
- Experience servicing large enterprise or Fortune 100 brands is highly preferred
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and execution
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end design and development of apparel and hard goods programs
- Create detailed technical production files, tech packs, and specifications for manufacturing
- Engineer products across a range of decoration methods including screen printing, embroidery, patchwork, dyeing, and specialty finishes
- Develop and refine apparel patterns, fits, and construction details
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sourcing, production, and client services
- Translate creative concepts into scalable, production-ready products
- Ensure quality, consistency, and brand alignment across all deliverables
- Manage multiple high-priority projects in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
