Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation and implementation of integrated Public Relations plans, projects and campaigns for NMDP patient and provider audiences, crafting strategies and managing projects from ideation through development and implementation.
  • Promote key research breakthroughs and clinical partnerships instrumental to advancing NMDP’s brand reputation and thought leadership; collaborate with enterprise marketing to ensure effective media coverage.
  • Develop relationships with key media contacts and influencers and provide support for issues and crisis management.
  • Develop communications and resources: develop strategies for PR activations to support patient and provider initiatives and goals, drive network and clinical influencer brand affinity.
  • Communicate proactively with recommendations, plans, project status, issues, barriers and solutions; develop editorial calendars across earned media tactics.
  • Direct PR agency to create strategies and define project approaches for earned media tactics; develop resources or execute communications.
  • Develop strategies, plans and initiatives around influencer opportunities and media outlets to drive awareness, brand affinity and registry recruitment.
  • Leverage Meltwater to track and tag coverage for patient, donor and campaign media results.
  • Create and manage project timelines through Asana, including tracking tasks and budget; ensure on-time, on-budget completion from concept through implementation and measurement; manage budgets across funding sources.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders; meet regularly to align on goals and projects.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of: Media and/or newsroom operations and news story cycles
  • Non-profit and health industries
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Mass Communications or related field or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in media relations

Preferred

  • Familiarity with Meltwater or Muckrack for reporting
  • Experience using Asana for project management
  • Familiarity with clinical research promotion methodologies and key publications
