SUMMARY

As a senior account executive, you are an integral part of a team of hard-working, talented individuals who serve as advisors to some of the world’s largest and most well-known healthcare brands. Senior account executives implement innovative and strategic ways in which we can best serve our clients while honing your communications skills. Working closely with supervisors, you oversee/mentor junior staffers as you manage client relations and project management.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Client relations

  • Enhance current client relationships by providing a level of service that focuses on:
  • In-depth thinking and research that leads to strategic and creative approaches to client challenges
  • Responsive, upbeat and professional client interactions
  • High standards of execution and attention to detail
  • Achieving the best possible results for the client in all we do
  • Contribute to client success by working to develop and maintain knowledge about relevant topics/issues, which include:
  • Client landscape/products and how they work
  • Thought leaders in key areas of healthcare
  • Relevant clinical studies and their outcomes
  • Competitors, current and/or emerging

Project management

  • Work with senior leaders of account teams to achieve proficiency/demonstrate leadership in project management, which may include, but is not limited to:
  • Coordination with third party organizations and KOLs
  • Media relations campaigns (discussed in detail below)
  • Managing all aspects of client events, such as logistics, sourcing vendors, developing run of show, etc.
  • Maintaining contact/coordinating with press officers at medical organizations
  • Managing all aspects of the production of brochures, videos, press kits, and other deliverables, including client review/approval process
  • Forging positive relationships with vendors and managing their activities and budgets
  • Managing client review/approval process in Veeva, or comparable system, for all materials
  • Providing updates on projects that you are managing on internal and client calls

Writing

  • Produce written documents that are strategic, cohesive and clearly articulate a story or narrative
  • Develop clear outlines of materials that provide a rationale for how to write various documents (e.g., press release, backgrounders, pitches)
  • Ability to receive senior feedback and incorporate edits in line with feedback

Media relations

  • Implement and execute successful client media relations activities and campaigns, including:
  • Providing recommendations/strong point of view on strategic focus for campaigns
  • Identifying target/priority media; ensuring that media contact information is up to date
  • Identifying, recommending and coordinating use of the best vehicles/technology for communicating the client's messages, including satellite media tours, audio news releases, multimedia news releases, etc.
  • Coordinating timing of key events/announcements/releases
  • Developing creative, targeted media angles
  • Achieving success in media contacts, specifically, gaining key media placements for clients
  • Coordinating and working with spokespeople/other key third parties to ensure timely, accurate delivery of client key messages
  • Directing media monitoring for coverage and content; developing reports to showcase results
  • Proactively monitoring Help A Report Out alerts (HARO) and flagging relevant opportunities to senior team members and clients

Fiscal management

  • Take an active role in budget development and management by working with senior members of account team to:
  • Research costs associated with creation of client budget estimates
  • Be proficient in setting up budget trackers in Excel or other spread sheet software
  • Effectively manage time and expenses on assigned projects
  • Support the development of monthly invoicing, which may include detailed invoice wording and/or activity reports
  • Begin to understand the role of project and staff forecasting

OVERALL AGENCY GROWTH RESPONSIBILITIES

New business development

  • Support the new business goals of the agency by:
  • Alerting appropriate teams to potential leads
  • Participating in the research, creative idea generation and program development processes
  • Assisting with creation/development of presentations, including text, slide design, technical support, etc.
  • Liaise with vendors to gather ideas and/or budget estimates

Agency growth & impact

  • Strengthen the agency by:
  • Taking part in trainings, workshops, or other learning opportunities and apply those learnings to strengthen the team and client work
  • Contributing to agency thought leadership and strategic insight development (e.g., sharing ideas, trends, or perspectives in brainstorms, team discussions, or internal materials)
  • Supporting agency visibility through external participation when appropriate
  • Mentoring and helping junior team members through guidance, coaching, and knowledge sharing
  • Supporting culture initiatives and identifying opportunities to improve team workflows or internal processes
  • Representing the agency in a positive and professional way and helping share opportunities (e.g., referrals, posting roles, job fairs)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, public relations, journalism, or related field
  • 3-4 years of experience in the field of public relations, healthcare-specific experience a plus
  • Proficiency in software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and AI platforms, such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, etc.
  • Knowledge of how to use all major social media platforms and an active interest in learning how to implement social media marketing programs
  • Meticulous writing and editing skills, including attention to organization, word usage, sentence structure, grammar and punctuation, and conscientious incorporation of copy edits

Salary: $75,000–$90,000

The base salary range listed represents the pay range for this role. Final compensation will be determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications.
