Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Write pitches, press releases and press kit materials
  • Develop and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, producers, influencers, and other media contacts
  • Assist with pitching local, regional, and national media to generate relevant coverage and opportunities for clients
  • Follow up with media contacts and track pitching efforts and results
  • Conduct industry research and monitor trends to identify relevant opportunities for clients
  • Participate in client meetings and brainstorms, take notes, send deliverables, and contribute research, ideas, and relevant account updates
  • Attend morning TV segments and evening events, occasionally on weekends
  • Support senior team members with day-to-day account management, client requests, and project deadlines
  • Research editorial calendars, awards, speaking opportunities, events, and other timely opportunities for clients
  • Maintain accurate media lists and coverage trackers, clip press coverage, and assist with reports

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of previous PR agency or relevant internship experience required
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple clients and projects while meeting tight deadlines
  • Excellent writing and communications skills, and knowledge of AP Style
  • Strong research skills with the ability to identify relevant trends, news, and media opportunities
  • Passion for current events and consistently engages with and reads news and media across all platforms
  • Must be active on social media and understand the influencer, creator, and brand landscape
  • Professional, confident, and personable communicator who is comfortable interacting with clients, media, and industry contacts
  • A passion for culinary, travel and lifestyle clients
  • Proactive self-starter who is comfortable working independently in a hybrid work environment
