Job Description

Responsibilities

Develop and execute strategic public affairs plans to promote hospital initiatives and command themes.
Manage the media query desk, draft press releases, prepare leadership talking points, and coordinate press briefings.
Plan and execute major events, press conferences, community outreach, and Distinguished Visitor (DV) visits.
Update external web pages and official social media channels, monitoring analytics to evaluate campaign impact.
Assist leadership with crisis communication strategies and rapid-response messaging.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Project Management, or a related field.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in public affairs, media relations, or strategic communications project management.
Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desirable.
Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with military health systems, market communications, and crisis management protocols.
On-Site Requirement: Must be willing and able to work 100% on-site at WRNMMC in Bethesda, MD.
