Midnight Dawn Public Relations Assistant

Overview: We are in search of a highly-motivated public relations assistant who is passionate about media relations and communications to join our team. The ideal candidate will be able to multi-task and perform well in a busy, fast-paced role and have FUN working with us!

Midnight Dawn’s Public Relations Assistant will be tasked with performing administrative duties for multiple senior members and supervisors with high-profile project work including: organizing logistics, creating press lists, drafting meeting agendas and recaps, in-depth media research and audits, press servicing and more. The ideal candidate will be a curious, confident, self-motivated person who is interested in sports, entertainment, health and wellness, culinary, fashion and other lifestyle industries. The candidate should have a passion for consuming media and an interest in learning how to build and execute brand and communication strategies.

This role is based in New York City, with a hybrid structure of three days in our NoMad office. Work hours are 9:30AM-6:00PM, Monday-Friday. Start date is immediate, but can be flexible based on the right candidate. 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and 1-2 years of relevant brand and/or communications experience. 
• Proven ability to work successfully within a team setting, keeping tasks on track while also supporting senior staff.
• Exhibits a passion for sports and entertainment, having a finger on the pulse of current trends and the ever evolving media landscape. 
• Demonstrates creative thinking with a proactive, go-getter approach to executing client deliverables while remaining calm under pressure.
• Proven success in project management, actioning against client deliverables in an organized and efficient way, while also meeting and maintaining client deadlines.
• Presents a strong work ethic, written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. 
• Proficient in Microsoft and Google Drive applications (i.e. Word, Outlook, Excel, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.), as well as experience working with professional services such as Muck Rack, Critical Mention, TV Eyes, Cision and IMDBPro. 

Responsibilities:

• Assist in day-to-day tasks and administration support for clients and within Midnight Dawn.
• Ownership of comprehensive press servicing and tracking for multiple clients each day; organizing weekly and monthly press coverage trackers and reports.
• Conduct in-depth media auditing resulting in the creation and maintenance of media lists and other outreach materials. 
• Draft call agendas and recaps, as well as other written communication materials.
• Manage personal and team calendars with internal team members and external partners. 
• Participate in media and talent outreach, cultivating relationships with respective publications and representatives. 
• Continuously maintain company and client materials. 
• Assist with on-site staffing at press events on an as needed basis by clients and senior team members. 
• Participate in and actively contribute to creative brainstorms and client meetings.
