Definition

Definition: Under general supervision of the Residential Services Program Manager, this role serves as the Community education project coordinator for the Senior Home Repair and Replacement Program (SHRRP) and the ECS Residential Services Division. Coordinates the Community education and outreach goals of the SHRRP Program. Develops informative and visually engaging multimedia content and practical training curricula to enhance program participation and client success. Engages with Community homeowners and residential program participants through various outreach campaigns, media platforms and in-person presentations. This job class is treated as FLSA Exempt and considered a DRIVING position.

Examples of Tasks

  • Project Coordination and Communication: Assist the SHRRP Program with customer service, monitoring and tracking the status of current and future Community education and outreach projects.
    • Monitor and ensure that all necessary planning, labor, materials and equipment required to sustain Community education and outreach projects are available when needed and that projects adhere to planned timetables.
  • Outreach and Marketing: Coordination with division management, residential program partners, participants, and community departments to produce multi-media material that is relevant, informative, and visually appealing for outreach, marketing, and training purposes.
    • Plan, promote, and implement comprehensive homeowner education courses for the Senior Home Repair and Replacement Program (SHRRP).
    • Inform, educate, and train program staff in the delivery of practical knowledge and training as part of their daily interaction with clients.
    • Attend program and department events, activities, and seminars as required by the department and its programs to capture still photographs, interviews, and/or video as reference material to enhance ongoing outreach and marketing efforts.
  • Content Development: Innovative development of high quality promotional and educational material that informs and engages clients and consistently yields favorable results for the Senior Home Repair and Replacement Program (SHRRP) and the ECS Residential Services Division.
    • Author engaging and informative practical education and training curricula designed to promote sustainable home-care practices that advance the mission and enhance the success of the SHRRP program.
    • Serve as primary graphic designer and multi-media resource for SHRRP and the Residential Services Division.
    • Work both independently and in a team environment to create effective, finished multimedia products for education, training, and program promotion.
    • Perform regular needs assessments to ensure that products, content, and engagement campaigns properly align with current program and departmental objectives.
    • Determine content appropriateness according to intended audience and use.
    • Design comprehensive seminar and workshop material/outlines for consistent outreach and organized training events.
    • Create supporting graphic materials for internal operating procedures and in-service training modules.
    • Author and design new and informative content for the SHRRP newsletter and social media posts.
    • Design and develop promotional materials such as fliers, brochures, newsletters, signage, and other outreach materials to engage program and departmental client base.
  • Operations: Assist ECS Residential Services Division management with administrative support functions in accordance with established operating standards, procedures, budgets, ordinances, and Tribal policies and procedures.
    • Develop, maintain, and update outreach and training metrics to assist leadership with program oversight.
    • Create and maintain a comprehensive calendar of events for SHRRP outreach activities and training events.
    • Estimate and propose expense budgets for media production, promotional items, and educational material.
    • Organize and maintain digital files for SHRRP and the Residential Services Division.
    • Monitor trends in social media for best practices, tools, applications, creative management, and technologies.
    • Work with program leadership and program stakeholders to promote Community engagement and program awareness.
    • Assist division management with research and preparation required to meet quarterly reporting deadlines.
    • Assist program manager with preparing presentations for SHRRP and applicable eligibility requirements.
    • Assist department with establishing and maintaining a standardized electronic file structure.
    • Design and maintain web content in SharePoint for the ECS Residential Services Division.
  • Event Planning and Training: Schedule and conduct training for Program participants and their families on residential topics such as home maintenance, home insurance, pest elimination, residential cleaning, organization, residential programs, and resources.
    • Coordinate outreach events, workshops, recognition events and smaller, targeted workshops.
    • Coordinate division base training, workshops, recognition events and smaller, targeted team building activities
    • Provide engaging and enriching training for personnel, offering varied teaching methods to diverse learners.
  • Miscellaneous: Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the SHRRP Program Manager and/or RSD Operations Manager, Assistant Director, Director.
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:
  • Knowledge of the culture, history and government of the Salt River Pima – Maricopa Indian Community.
  • Knowledge of public information/relations principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of the basic photography, video, and podcast techniques.
  • Skill in following oral and written instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • Skill developing content, including copyediting, marketing collateral materials, newsletter and intranet site.
  • Skill with Adobe Suite and other software programs required for social media, multimedia and web-based production.
  • Skill managing social media platforms, leveraging analytics tools and writing/editing content.
  • Skill reviewing the work of others to ensure accuracy and conformity with department policies and procedures.
  • Skill in preparing written correspondence and reports.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationship(s) with the public.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to provide complex decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and members of the public.
  • Ability to effectively manage production deadline stress and perform well under pressure.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work situations and assignments.
  • Ability to prepare correspondence, reports, etc., utilizing correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, and organization.

  • Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, advertising, adult education, communications, or related field.
  • Two (2) years’ experience writing and/or editing published projects, portfolios, or relevant subject matter required; AND
  • One (1) year experience in graphic design or web design required.
  • Experience in a customer service environment is preferred.
  • Equivalency: Any equivalent combination of education and experience that will allow the applicant to satisfactorily perform the duties of the job may be considered when filling the position.
  • Underfill Eligibility: An enrolled Community Member whom closely qualifies for the minimum qualifications for a position may be considered for employment under SRPMIC Policy 2-19, Underfill.
