The Transportation Department is now accepting statements of interest from staff for the following position. This position is only open to Transportation Department staff. Principal Air Quality Planner – Alternative Fuels and Energy Programs Seeking a Principal Air Quality Planner to assume a leadership role in the alternative fuel infrastructure initiatives area of the Alternative Fuels and Energy Programs team. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: Managing the planning, development, and implementation of projects and programs related to alternative fuel infrastructure Managing the development of educational events to showcase alternative fuel infrastructure and innovative fuel supply options Developing regional and corridor alternative fuel infrastructure plans Recommending development or prioritization of existing and new initiatives Preparing and reviewing reports, project results, and technical analyses, ensuring quality control, Coordinating efforts to monitor and leverage national, State, and local grant opportunities, regulations, best practices, and resources related to topics that support regional strategies Developing and monitoring project schedules, work scopes, and budgets and expenditures Preparing and delivering oral presentations Preparing and reviewing correspondence, documentation, reports, articles, and executive summaries Planning, contributing to, and leading meetings and events Supervising staff This position requires at least five years of work-related experience, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in analytical, quantitative methods. The individual in this position should also possess excellent written and oral communication skills, strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, and effective managerial and supervisory skills.
