Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Draft, edit, and coordinate approval of press releases, background checkers, media advisories, Q&As, fact sheets, and related content.
  • Maintain daily contact with journalists: respond to inquiries, proactively pitch stories, and coordinate interviews.
  • Assist in organizing and executing press events, influencer activations, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Manage media monitoring, reporting, and internal trackers: coverage clippings, agendas, media lists, and reporting dashboards.
  • Monitor competitor activity and industry trends; provide summaries and insights to the team.
  • Ensure message consistency across paid, earned, shared, and owned media.
  • Liaise with internal departments (marketing, brand, legal, product) to ensure alignment of messaging.
  • Act as a brand guardian in external communication, upholding tone, language, and core values.

Requirements

  • 1-4years of experience in PR, corporate communications, media relations, or journalism.
  • Strong sense of autonomy and ownership of tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills in [insert required languages, e.g., English and Spanish].
  • Familiarity with media databases, monitoring platforms (e.g., Meltwater, Cision), and CMS/social media tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
  • Team player with a proactive mindset and willingness to learn.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in an agency, a startup, or a media environment.
  • Knowledge of crisis communication protocols or reputation management.
  • Exposure to public affairs or stakeholder engagement.
