Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement communication strategies to support the achievement of business objectives at the plant.
  • Build positive sentiment and reputation through communications and engagement with a variety of audiences, including employees, customers, community members and media.
  • Function as an integral part of the plant operating committee and the communications subject matter expert for the facility.
  • Craft messaging, mine for stories and communicate them in compelling ways.
  • Design, launch and run employee communication channels customized for the plant.
  • Support the delivery of leaders’ messages and presentations.
  • Play a leadership role in planning and executing major events at your site.
  • Create and nurture relationships with key local journalists to inform media coverage.
  • Stay connected to major company and industry news.
  • Measure sentiment and other results and continuously improve your approaches based on data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, PR, Communications or related field
  • 1+ years of experience in communications or media relations on behalf of a highly visible brand
  • Strong writing and communication skills

Preferred

  • Passion for the energy systems industry
  • Prior manufacturing communications experience
  • Positive, self-starter attitude and the ability to learn quickly
  • Top-notch organizational and multi-tasking capabilities
  • Ability to leverage AI responsibly to improve efficiency and strengthen results
  • Ongoing awareness of local or regional events and media environment
  • Professional and interpersonal maturity with a track record of successful relationship building
  • Proficiency in graphic design and creativity to generate original content
  • Personal experience with social media and an understanding of its role in business
