Job Summary

Own the campus communications voice by writing and editing across websites, social, emails, and long-form content, with tight collaboration to blend copy with design and campaigns that reach students and campus partners.

  • Content Ownership: Write and edit on multiple platforms and ensure accuracy and tone for Student Life audiences.
  • Campaign Collaboration: Coordinate with designers, photographers, videographers, and campus partners to launch cohesive campaigns.
  • Channel & Tool Mastery: Set up email newsletters in Salesforce Marketing Cloud and manage web, social, and signage assets.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Writes effective copy based on goals of a project, audience, and other factors, using the appropriate tone and word choice.
  • Develops copy for various platforms (websites, social media, advertising, calendars, etc.) in a timely manner.
  • Reviews and rewrites copy on many platforms to ensure writing is more effective, brief when necessary, and without mistakes (spelling, grammar, punctuation, accuracy of information, etc.).
  • Doublechecks copy on projects before they are launched.
  • Collaborates with graphic designers to effectively blend copy and design into effective marketing and communications.
  • Writes and sets up email newsletters on the Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform.
  • Writes longer-form articles and blog posts.
  • Manages websites, signage, social media captions, videos and closed captioning, ad brochures, and more.
  • Works closely with graphic designers, photographers, videographers, social media coordinators, and campus partners to create these necessary campaigns.
  • Works closely with various members of the marketing team and professional staff/clients from around the Office of Student Life.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a student with Indiana University
  • Experience writing/editing on various platforms or for a college course
  • Fine attention to detail
