About the Role

Initium Health is seeking a 2L or 3L law student to support ongoing legal and compliance work tied to public health campaigns funded through state and local funding. The role involves law, public policy, implementation, and government-facing work. The candidate will take ownership of contract drafting, regulatory compliance, communications, and negotiation with public and private entities. 

Key Responsibilities

• Drafting, reviewing, and revising contracts relating to public health initiatives and grant programs.
• Conduct legal research on state and local regulatory frameworks, including compliance requirements.
• Prepare formal correspondence, including letters and electronic communication with government agencies, institutional partners, and contractors. 
• Assist in developing compliance documentation and internal policies.
• Draft legal memoranda and summaries as needed. 
• Support the creation of waivers and other risk-mitigation documents. 

Qualifications

• Current 2L or 3L at an accredited law school (rising 3Ls preferred).
• Strong legal writing and drafting skills (contracts, memos, formal communications).
• Ability to work independently and manage assigned projects under supervision. 
• Ability to work in a fast-moving and lightly structured environment. 
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Google Docs, Google Slides, and general data organization.
• Interest in public health, government work, or regulatory compliance.
