Paid expert consultations: one hour, $200–$600, on consent and AI transcription

Cull.ai (www.cull.ai) s conducting paid research interviews through October. We are seeking professionals who would carry the risk of deploying AI transcription in their organisation.

About us

• Cull.ai is incubated and funded by PatentVC, the venture studio of an intellectual property firm

• Our co-founder and CTO was an early engineer at Otter.ai, where he built the speaker recognition technology this category relies on

• I hold a Stanford PhD in electrical engineering and have spent my career deploying AI in regulated healthcare

The problem we are addressing

• Current AI notetakers capture a meeting first and resolve permissions afterward, if at all

• Some join visibly and record every participant regardless of agreement; others listen from a laptop, so other participants may never be informed

• Neither approach can demonstrate afterward what was retained and what was destroyed

• Consolidated privacy class actions are proceeding in federal court on this architecture. These remain allegations rather than findings, but the complaints share a consistent pattern: participants were not informed, could not stop the capture, and more was retained than the interaction required

What we are building

• A meeting assistant that requests permission from each participant before recording them

• Only participants who consent are transcribed; the remainder is discarded before anything is written to disk

• The system produces an exportable record of who was notified, who agreed, who declined, what was captured and what was destroyed

• The same requirement is emerging in clinical settings, wearables, and humanoid robotics

Who we are seeking

• Attorneys, legal operations leaders and firm administrators, particularly litigators and privacy practitioners

• Physicians, nurses and clinical informatics leaders working with ambient documentation

• Engineers and product leaders in humanoid robotics, wearables and smart glasses

• Compliance officers and privacy counsel in financial services and insurance

• CISOs and IT directors responsible for vendor security review

• Heads of talent acquisition who conduct recorded interviews

The engagement

• One hour, by video, with me directly

• I present the record our product generates and explain how the consent mechanism operates, then listen

• Four questions: what is wrong with it; would your organisation adopt it; what would you pay, and per what unit; what would cause your security or ethics review to reject it

• No product demonstration, no sales presentation, and no follow-up sales sequence

Compensation

• $200–$600 per hour, determined by seniority and specialisation, paid within 24 hours

• State your standard hourly rate and we will meet it within that range; if your rate exceeds it, please say so

• Where your employer prohibits vendor payments, we will donate the equivalent amount to a charity of your choosing

• Compensation is unconditional, including if your conclusion is that you would not adopt it, or that its value is materially below what we anticipated
