Responsibilities

Write persuasive and engaging copy for marketing materials, newsletters, social media, websites, email, and outreach products.
Develop headlines, calls to action, campaign messaging, promotional language, and brand-supporting content.
Adapt voice, tone, structure, and message for different audiences and communication channels.
Translate program information into accessible and compelling public-facing copy.
Collaborate with graphic designers to ensure copy and visuals create a cohesive message.
Coordinate with communications specialists, editors, and subject matter experts.
Edit and proofread copy for accuracy, clarity, grammar, consistency, and impact.
Manage multiple assignments and deliver polished copy within established schedules.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in English, Advertising, Communications, or a related field.
At least 3 years of professional experience in creative writing, copywriting, marketing content, or a closely related discipline.
Demonstrated experience writing persuasive and engaging content for marketing materials, newsletters, social media, web, or comparable channels.
Ability to adjust voice, tone, length, and message for different audiences and platforms.
Experience collaborating with graphic designers, communications specialists, or marketing teams.
Strong editing, proofreading, grammar, and attention-to-detail skills.
Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet production deadlines.

Preferred

Experience supporting Federal Government, public-sector, research, transportation, engineering, or scientific communications.
Experience developing campaign messaging, calls to action, taglines, headlines, or promotional concepts.
Experience writing for social media, email marketing, newsletters, websites, and print collateral.
Familiarity with plain language, accessibility, content strategy, or audience analytics.
A professional portfolio demonstrating a range of voices, formats, and audiences.
