Job Description

Location: Houston, Texas
Employment: Full-time preferred
Target Pay: $22 to $28/hour, based on Odoo/ERP experience, with higher pay considered for Odoo product data experts.
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Odoo Master Data Specialist to organize, clean, and maintain our product, inventory, and customer databases.
You will work with Operations, Purchasing, Inventory, Sales, and management to build accurate, consistent, and scalable data structures as we move more of our product catalog, sales, dealer portal, and online ordering functions into Odoo.
The ideal candidate combines practical ERP experience with strong data management skills and can identify inconsistencies, improve database structure, and maintain reliable standards.
Key Responsibilities
Stage 1: Product and Inventory Master Data

The initial priority will be cleaning and restructuring our product and inventory database.

  • Review and clean existing product and inventory records in Odoo.
  • Develop logical, scalable product categories and subcategories, and assign products consistently.
  • Standardize product names, descriptions, internal references/SKUs, brands, models, attributes, and variants.
  • Identify duplicate, incomplete, obsolete, inactive, or incorrectly categorized items.
  • Add and maintain accurate product images, specifications, and missing information using approved manufacturer or vendor sources.
  • Assist with bulk imports, exports, and updates, including quality checks before changes are implemented.
  • Document standards for product creation, categorization, images, and ongoing maintenance.
  • At the same time, help establish and maintain the correct customer and contact record structure, following the existing customer-creation SOP.
Stage 2: Customer Master Data and Portal Readiness

The next stage will focus on cleaning the customer database and preparing dealer accounts for future Odoo portal access and online ordering.

  • Review and clean existing customer and contact records.
  • Identify and help resolve duplicate, incomplete, and inconsistent records.
  • Standardize relationships between companies, parent contacts, and child contacts.
  • Review and correct billing and shipping address structures.
  • Ensure dealer accounts and related contacts are structured consistently.
  • Help prepare dealer accounts for portal access and online ordering.
  • Work with Sales to ensure established procedures for creating customer and contact records are consistently followed.
  • Perform ongoing data quality reviews to prevent recurring inconsistencies.

Qualifications
  • Experience with ERP product/item databases, inventory systems, PIM systems, or e-commerce catalogs.
  • Hands-on Odoo experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to develop logical category structures and apply consistent standards across hundreds or thousands of records.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with technical and nontechnical teams.

Preferred Experience
  • Odoo Inventory, Sales, Purchase, and Contacts.
  • Product master data standards and bulk data imports/exports.
  • CRM or customer master data cleanup and standardization.
  • B2B dealer account structures and company/contact relationships.
  • E-commerce platforms, customer portals, or online ordering workflows.
  • Inventory, purchasing, sales, and warehouse processes.
  • Product images and manufacturer specifications.
  • Responsible use of AI tools for classification, description cleanup, image matching, duplicate detection, or data quality, with human verification.

Selection Process
Qualified candidates may be asked to complete a short practical assessment using sample product and customer records. This may include proposing a category structure, identifying data quality issues, standardizing records, reviewing customer/contact relationships, and explaining how duplicates and bulk updates should be handled.
How to Apply
Please submit your resume and a brief summary of your relevant Odoo/ERP experience, including any product, inventory, or customer database cleanup projects you have completed.
