The Role
The New Business Account Executive (AE) at BBDO New York is an integral member of the New Business team, supporting the agency’s efforts to identify, pursue, and win new client opportunities. This person is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and execution of new business initiatives and helps ensure seamless collaboration across agency departments throughout the pitch process.
Strong communication, project management, research, and organizational skills are key to this role. The New Business AE should be reliable, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with multiple teams, priorities, and deadlines.
The ideal candidate will be innately curious about brands, business, culture, and the advertising industry. They will bring an entrepreneurial mindset, strong follow-through, and an eagerness to learn how agencies build relationships, develop opportunities, and win new business.
The performance standard for the New Business AE is excellence in execution, organization, and team support throughout the new business process.
Responsibilities
BBDO has adopted a hybrid working environment. Employees are required to be in the office Tuesday through Thursday and work from home Monday and Friday.
$85,000-$110,000
Omnicom’s policy requires employees to work in the office for a minimum of three days a week, unless additional in-office days are directed by their agency or manager. Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day management and coordination of new business opportunities, pitches, and agency growth initiatives.
- Partner with New Business leadership to develop timelines, workstreams, deliverables, and meeting cadences for active opportunities.
- Coordinate across Account Management, Strategy, Creative, Production, Finance, PR/Communications, and other agency disciplines to keep pitch teams aligned and moving forward.
- Maintain new business status reports, calendars, trackers, and other materials to ensure visibility into deadlines, deliverables, and next steps.
- Conduct prospect, category, competitive, and marketplace research to support opportunity assessment and pitch development.
- Develop background materials and briefing documents that help agency teams quickly understand prospective clients, their businesses, competitors, and marketing challenges.
- Support the development of RFIs, RFPs, credentials presentations, pitch materials, and other new business deliverables.
- Coordinate internal meetings, work sessions, rehearsals, and pitch-related logistics.
- Document key meetings and ensure clear communication and follow-up on decisions, responsibilities, and next steps.
- Support presentation development by coordinating content, collecting inputs, managing revisions, and ensuring materials are accurate and presentation-ready.
- Build strong working relationships across agency departments and help facilitate effective communication among pitch team members.
- Maintain organized records of new business materials, case studies, agency credentials, and other resources used throughout the pitch process.
- Help maintain accurate information related to the agency’s new business pipeline and active opportunities.
- Support competitive reviews and agency research to stay informed on industry activity, client movement, and relevant marketplace developments.
- Assist with pitch logistics, including scheduling, technology needs, materials, travel coordination, and other requirements as needed.
- Lead select new business projects with oversight and counsel from senior team members.
- Contribute to broader agency growth, marketing, and culture initiatives as appropriate.
- Actively participate in and contribute to a positive agency culture.
- Build relationships across departments and develop a strong understanding of BBDO’s capabilities, work, people, and clients.
- Stay informed on industry news, agency developments, creative work, and emerging marketing trends.
- Serve as an enthusiastic and resourceful partner to teams involved in new business.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1 to 2 years of agency, marketing, communications, new business, or related experience.
- Strong oral, written, and presentation skills.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong research skills and an interest in brands, business, advertising, marketing, and culture.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and/or Google Slides and comfort working with presentation materials.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams and levels of the organization.
- Resilient and flexible, particularly when priorities and timelines shift.
- Anticipates next steps and works independently when appropriate.
- Proactive, resourceful, and eager to learn.
