Job Summary

Own the momentum for NEON indie film campaigns by supporting multi-channel PR and social programs, with a focus on trend research, press tracking, and influencer outreach that drives buzz around releases.

  • Campaign execution and day-to-day support: marketing and PR collaboration, social content creation, and event activations.
  • Research and targeting: audience trends, talent scouting, and competitive title insights to shape outreach and messaging.
  • Measurement and logistics: track press coverage, engagement, and deadlines across project trackers and calendars.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Marketing and PR teams on campaigns for upcoming NEON releases
  • Assist with social media content creation, including brainstorming, drafting captions, and sourcing assets
  • Help track press coverage, audience engagement, and campaign performance
  • Conduct research on trends, talent, audiences, and comparable titles in both the indie and mainstream film space
  • Assist with influencer and community outreach to help build buzz around releases
  • Contribute ideas for creative activations, events, and promotional opportunities
  • Maintain organization across project trackers, calendars, and shared materials
  • Collaborate with team members across departments to support day-to-day marketing and publicity efforts

Requirements

  • Applicants must be currently enrolled as undergraduate students at an accredited college or university during the internship.
  • Strong interest in film, publicity, marketing, talent relations, and the independent film space.
  • Must be proficient with Photoshop and Premiere.
  • Comfortable working with press clippings, Google Workspace (Docs/Sheets/Slides), and tools like Cision or Muck Rack (experience not required, but a plus).
  • Solid writing and communication skills. Ability to draft emails, press materials, or coverage reports clearly and professionally.
  • Curiosity about audience behavior, cultural trends, digital platforms, and how film campaigns connect with viewers.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to gather information, identify trends, and communicate findings clearly.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented. Comfortable tracking press breaks, building media lists, and managing deadlines. Strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proactive and resourceful, not afraid to take initiative, ask questions, contribute ideas, jump in where needed, or dive into research projects.
  • Familiarity with NEON's film slate and a passion for independent cinema are strongly encouraged.

Preferred

  • Interest in festivals and awards campaigns is a bonus.
