The Museum of Aviation, located on 51 acres near Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, Georgia, is one of the largest aviation museums in the United States. It features more than 90 historic U.S. Air Force aircraft, missiles, and award-winning exhibits housed in four climate-controlled buildings. The Museum is the proud home of the National STEM Academy, the Georgia Aviation Hall of Fame, and STARBASE Robins, and it is a partner of the Georgia World War II Heritage Trail. Operated by the Museum of Aviation Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization chartered in 1983, the Museum is dedicated to preserving America’s aviation heritage and fostering STEM education.

Role Description

The Museum of Aviation Foundation at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, is seeking its next President.

The Museum of Aviation Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the Museum of Aviation through charitable, educational, and community-focused initiatives. The next President will play a key role in advancing the Foundation’s mission by engaging external stakeholders, strengthening strategic partnerships, and leading enterprise operations.

This role will lead the Foundation’s Senior Management Team and oversee a diverse portfolio that includes:

• Strategic planning and execution

• Fundraising, capital campaigns, and endowment growth

• STEM education initiatives

• Marketing, public relations, and community visibility

• Events management

• Financial and budget management

• Facility management

• Board engagement and governance support

Key Responsibilities

Leadership

Set team goals and strategies aligned with organizational objectives, monitor progress, delegate responsibilities, coach and mentor team members, and foster a collaborative and productive work environment.

Strategic Planning and Fundraising

Establish and execute strategic enterprise plans, report progress to the Board of Directors, and lead major fundraising initiatives, including capital campaigns and endowment growth, to support long-term sustainability.

Public Relations and Visibility

Serve as the primary public representative of the Foundation, leading media relations, marketing, messaging, and promotional efforts to elevate brand awareness, strengthen community engagement, and support fundraising. The President will regularly interface with senior military officials, Robins Air Force Base leadership, nonprofit partners, government leaders, education partners, and business stakeholders locally, statewide, and nationally.

Financial Management

Develop and manage the annual operating budget, provide regular financial reports to the Board, and ensure funds are managed in compliance with applicable laws, grant requirements, and organizational policies.

Board Relations and Governance

Operate under the direction of the Board of Directors, supporting strategy, operations, records, notices, agendas, minutes, and committee coordination.

The President will report to the Museum of Aviation Foundation Board of Directors.

Position Details

• Anticipated Start Date: July 20, 2026, negotiable

• Work Hours: 40 hours per week

• Annual Base Salary: $122,500, with potential annual increases through the performance review process

• Performance Bonus: May be awarded at fiscal year-end based on performance and Board approval

Qualifications

• Proven knowledge and expertise in Aircraft and Aviation, with the ability to advocate for aviation history and education
• Exceptional Communication and Customer Service skills for engaging with donors, partners, and the community effectively
• Prior experience or knowledge in Aircraft Maintenance and operational oversight
• Demonstrated leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead teams and develop strategic plans
• Experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, and building partnerships is highly desirable
• Strong public speaking abilities and proficiency in community outreach and engagement
• Relevant educational background or equivalent professional experience in nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field
