Job Description
Responsibilities
- Day-to-Day Operations and Student Workflow Management
- - Manages daily student employee workflow in support of equipment checkout operations. Coordinates student tasks, monitors opening and closing checklists, tracks routine workflow completion, and helps ensure daily operational priorities are completed accurately and on time.
- Student Workload and Project Management
- - Creates, prioritizes, and assigns student employee projects and operational tasks that support daily operations. Monitors progress, adjusts priorities as needed, and helps ensure student work aligns with service needs, workflow demands, and operational deadlines.
- Operational Documentation and Records Management
- - Maintains operational documentation, wiki content, scanning activities, and archival records used by staff and student employees. Supports accurate recordkeeping, workflow references, and access to operational information needed for daily operations and compliance requirements.
- Student Hiring, Scheduling, and Administrative Coordination
- - Coordinates day-to-day student employee administrative processes, including interview coordination, hiring-process support, work schedules, timesheet approvals, and performance evaluation documentation. Supports student staffing continuity while maintaining alignment with management expectations, approval requirements, and workforce planning decisions.
- Reservation Workflow Oversight and Student Support
- - Oversees reservation workflows performed by student employees, including staging, pickup readiness, check-in accuracy, and issue documentation. Monitors completion, provides routine guidance, and helps ensure reservation activity is handled consistently and on schedule.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of experience working with film, video, lighting, grip, or related media production equipment.
- Experience providing customer service, responding to inquiries, and resolving routine service-related issues.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with students, faculty, and staff.
- Ability to provide onboarding, training, and guidance on operational procedures, equipment use, customer service expectations, and checkout systems.
- Experience supporting employee scheduling, timesheet administration, and performance documentation.
- Ability to accurately process and maintain equipment reservation, checkout, return, and operational records.
- Experience coordinating, training, mentoring, or leading the work of student employees, volunteers, interns, or similar personnel.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail in scheduling, documentation, record maintenance, and workflow coordination.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and adapt to changing operational needs in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Four or more years of experience working with film, video, lighting, grip, or related media production equipment.
- Experience working in an equipment checkout, media production, academic technology, or educational support environment.
- Experience coordinating, training, scheduling, or directing the work of student employees, interns, volunteers, or part-time staff.
- Experience organizing daily workflows, assigning tasks, tracking progress, and supporting completion of team projects.
- Experience using equipment checkout, reservation, inventory, or asset-management software.
- Experience maintaining digital records, operational documentation, training materials, or workflow reference resources.
- Experience providing training or guidance on systems, policies, customer service expectations, or operational procedures.
- Experience supporting customer service operations in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
