Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Films high-quality video and audio of the university’s brand, programs, and people relating to organic and paid video marketing campaigns as assigned. Flexes schedule as needed within reason to capture visually stunning moments on video.
  • Edits and finalizes scripted and unscripted videos as assigned for marketing campaigns with special attention to high-quality visuals and audio, color grading, music cues, video subject releases, copyright, and accessibility. Scripts and assignments are provided, and a member of the marketing team typically field produces.
  • Adheres to university brand and style guidelines.
  • Works collaboratively with members of the marketing team and other departments, including communications, creative services, and website services, to avoid overlap of duties and meet shared goals on time and within scope. MV does not typically cover university news events or act as a general asset-gathering videographer absent a script/assignment.
  • Serves as a resource for filming and editing best practices and occasionally assists with video projects in other departments and divisions as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum three years experience as a professional, full-time videographer
  • Strong portfolio showing a range of commercial work
  • Proficiency in editing with Adobe Premier, including ability to match existing broll with new assets as best as possible
  • Broad knowledge of current video, sound, and lighting equipment use
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to connect with strangers, capacity to respond to criticism, collaborative problem-solving, and good judgment
